Sea lice are a consistent challenge and driver for innovation in the salmon farming industry. In the Faroe Islands management of sea lice at individual fish farms impacts the allowed production and there is an effort to increase knowledge on sea lice infection pressure and epidemiology. A planning tool for sea lice management at individual fish farms has been developed, based on detailed national sea lice monitoring and scientific validated models. This enables the farmers to explore the various management practices with cleaner fish and treatments.
