Aquaculture is a growing global industry and major contributor to the Icelandic economy. There is additional interest in Iceland to increase domestic vegetable production. Aquaponics could serve as a tool to address both of these areas, as it reuses aquaculture wastewater for vegetable production. In this presentation we will discuss different methods of aquaponics and how they can be applied within Iceland.
