The session was suppose to discuss the new legislation on Aqua Culture in Iceland

Dagskrá Lagarlífs, sem haldið verður dagana 8-9 október í Hörpu, er nú að mestu tilbúin. Allar málstofur eru full mannaðar, fyrir utan þá síðustu sem átti að fjalla um stefnumótun stjórnvalda í lagareldi. Þegar málstofan var sett upp var gert ráð fyrir að lög um lagareldi yrði samþykkt frá Alþingi á vordögum. Það tókst ekki og töldu þátttakendur í málstofunni það ekki henta að ræða um lagasetningu sem ekki hefur verið samþykkt. Stefnt er að lögin verði samþykkt á haustþingi. Málstofan er því í uppnámi sem stendur og vinna stjórnendur hennar að því að finna nýtt viðfangsefni.

Aqua Ice program, which will be held on October 8^th to 9th in Harpa, is now mostly ready. All seminars are fully set, except for the last one, which was supposed to discuss the government’s new legislation on aquaculture in Iceland. When the seminar was set up, it was assumed that the legislation would be approved by the Parliament in the early spring. It didn’t work out and the participants in the seminar did not think it was appropriate to discuss legislation that has not been approved. It is planned that the new legislation will be approved at Althing late in autumn.

The seminar is therefore currently in turmoil and its administrators are working to find a new topic.
